FOOTY Show legend Sam Newman was the man of the moment at the Mildura Club yesterday.
The former Geelong player poured some beers and spent some time with “country folk” at the club’s sportsmans’ luncheon.
Mildura Club’s secretary-manager Brad Fox said tickets sold in a flash for the controversial star’s meet and greet, in which he spoke about life as a AFL player.
The event aimed to raise $6000 to maintain the club.
“Sam’s very controversial, he’s been a great footballer in his time, his personal life is controversial and that’s what these days are all about,” Mr Fox said.
