SWINE FLU will not stop interstate families from coming to Mildura this long weekend, tourism officials said yesterday.
Following warnings from three Australian states to avoid Victoria, local businesses are unsure if interstate tourists will heed the warnings.
School children and staff returning from high-risk Victorian areas will be placed in quarantine for a week before they can return to class.
But Mildura Tourism chief executive, Rod Trowbridge said Mildura would not be adversely affected by the new swine flu measures.
“Mildura is open for business...the public is dealing with the issue particularly well, they understand the risks and precautions and are not panicking,” he said.
