Kids in a spin for circus show

17 Apr, 2009 05:00 AM
THERE will be plenty of clowning around in Cardross tonight.

Jugglers, clowns, and other “circus freaks” will be in the limelight for the Cardross Citrus Circus’ grand finale.

About 40 children have been using their school holiday break to learn new tricks from ringmasters Kerry Nevin and Camden Corbett from Melbourne’s Firework’s Dance Company.

And, after four-days of training, they’ll lift the curtains for an evening of entertainment, starting at 6pm tonight, at the Cardross Hall.

Cambden Corbett, circus instructor, said the workshops were about building skills, having fun and learning new tricks.

“They learn little tricks and then they build on them throughout the week.

“It’s fantastic to see young talent.”

Kerry Nevin, a teacher with Circus Oz, said the children were taught a range of skills including juggling, diabolo and spinning plates.
