Maccas set on Xmas opening

McDONALD’S Australia remains confident it will have its third Mildura restaurant operating by the end of this year.

Mildura Rural City Council last month approved the $2 million fast food outlet in Fifteenth Street, pending 36 conditions.

It will be the third McDonald’s outlet in the city with other shops in the Langtree Mall and a drive-through outlet in Deakin Avenue, a short distance from the proposed development at the corner of Benetook Avenue.

The 24-hour restaurant could employ up to 100 staff during peak operating times, such as Christmas and Easter.

McDonald’s Australia spokesperson Amy Lawrence yesterday said the company held firm to the aim of opening by Christmas.
