MILDURA’s QantasLink service will remain unchanged despite Qantas announcing 1500 workers could be cut as it reduces capacity in the face of deteriorating trade conditions.
The Australian carrier said yesterday another 500 management positions would be cut and up to 1250 equivalent full time positions would be affected in addition to management reductions being made.
A spokesperson said the announced changes were unlikely to affect QantasLink and flights to and from Mildura.
“QantasLink continues to perform very strongly in all markets, so we can confirm there will be no change to Mildura services as a result of the announcement,” the spokesperson said.
Qantas also slashed its full year pre-tax profit outlook to between $100 million and $200 million, down from its previous forecast of $500 million.
