Movie stars get local low down for filming

04 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
IT will be lights, camera, action in Mildura on Monday as director Richard Gray begins filming his feature debut Summer Coda.

As director, writer and co-producer, Gray said this week – which he is spending in the region preparing – would be manic, but it was great to finally be back in town.

“With six days before we shoot I don’t think I’ve been more excited apart from maybe my wedding day,” he said.

The stars of the film have begun to trickle into town, with Alex Dimitriades arriving yesterday and Rachel Taylor arriving today.

“We took him (Dimitriades) straight to Orange World.

“Mario and Maria (Mammone) have been helping us out tremendously and they’re showing us a thing or two about citrus.

“We’re heading out to Gol Gol today (Tuesday), to see Dennis Mills and get him out on a tractor. We will be shooting on Michael Keenan’s property in Dareton later in the week.”
