Rain storms on radar

20/08/2008 2:57:00 PM
WE can look forward to some wet weather over the next few days.

A strong cold front is expected to pass over the region tomorrow bringing showers and the chance of thunderstorms and hail.

Farmers and blockies said they were hoping for some good rainfall.

Sunraysia’s green thumbs said they would also have their heads turned to the sky praying for a good soaking.

A Mildura Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson said the August rainfall total was 21.6mm.

“The average is 26.7 mill’ so if we get a bit of rain on Thursday then we might reach that,” he said.

“We don’t predict how much we’re going to get, but there is the chance of some thunderstorms.”

The Elders weather website predicts a 70 per cent chance of between 1mm and 5mm.

August, so far, has been the wettest month since November 2007 when 29.2mm was recorded.
