PRIZED cars and boats in pristine condition drew thousands of people to Mildura for yesterday’s Show and Shine.
The streets were alive as local rev heads got their fix of high powered cars, boats, motorbikes and powerful engines.
Live bands played music while people milled around through Langtree Mall, Deakin and Madden avenues.
Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance and delivered eggs to young car and boat enthusiasts.
Cars from the American Bred Classics Car Club were in mint condition and gleaming on Langtree Mall and Fords’, SLR 500’s were displayed.
Some of the most valuable ski boats Mildura has seen were parked along Madden Avenue and Eighth Street.
Event co-ordinator of the boats section, Paul Blain said extra roads were blocked off this year to ensure the event was bigger and better.
He said at least 5000 people turned out for the day’s festivities.
“This is all part of the ski race weekend,” Mr Blain said.
“People are here to see some of the hottest boats in Australia.
“They’re 120 miles an hour on water so they’re extremely fast and loud.”
Families took advantage of yesterday’s fine weather and strolled through Mildura.
“There’s something for everybody to do,” Mr Blain said.
“The Easter Bunny’s here, there’s live music going and we’ve got the big $1.3 million Fosters truck where people can pour themselves a beer.”
