People ready to help

HERE are many reasons why I love living in this region.

We are lucky to have great weather, magnificent natural attractions, excellent services, countless opportunities to participate in the arts and sport and a diverse network of towns and communities.

But the one thing that makes ours such a great place to live is the attitude of the people who live here and the selfless contributions they are willing to make for the benefit of others in the community.

Whether they head up an environmental group, work to increase cultural awareness and diversity, help out in the sporting arena or volunteer to help disadvantaged people there are so many people who go above and beyond simply for the love of helping out and serving their communities.

Many of these kind, generous and talented people go unrecognised, however, that doesn’t have to be the case.

The 2010 Mildura Rural City Council Australia Day Awards are the perfect way to honour the efforts of someone deserving.
