Alvey praises Roos’ staying power

ANOTHER fast finish from Wentworth on Saturday kept them level with premiership rival Imperials and Robinvale after round two of the Sunraysia Football and Netball League.

The Kangaroos piled on seven goals to one in the final term against Mildura to run out comfortable winners and build plenty of confidence heading into next week’s Sunday blockbuster against Imps.

Wentworth coach Mark Alvey, who was again among the Kangaroo’s best, said the team could take a lot of confidence from the way they finished off the match.

“I was really pleased with the way we ran out the game,” Alvey said.

“It shows our fitness is at a really good level after the pre-season.

“It’s a real positive for us and it gives the guys a good mindset in the future because we know we can run games out.”
