TODAY’S crunch match between Robinvale and Wentworth will be a celebration of indigenous culture and its contribution to Australian football.

The Robinvale Football Netball Club has organised a special indigenous round to recognise the influence of indigenous people in Robinvale and help bring the town closer together.

Robinvale players will wear a special match-day guernsey designed by Aboriginal artist Barb Egan.

Eagles coach Troy Moncur has been the driving force behind the day and said he hoped today would attract more young indigenous players to the club.

“It’s about recognising the contribution indigenous people have made to the Robinvale Football Club in the past and what they can make in the future, and getting more kids down to the footy club and playing,” Moncur said.
