TUESDAY, November 3 - Baker’s Delight Melbourne Cup Day, ambrose in twos: A morning shotgun start was the perfect start to an enjoyable social golf day for the 80 players, and scores were very good.
The scratch winners were Sue Laird and Andrew Stewart on 65 strokes.
The mixed handicap was won by Renae Jeffrey and Al McMasters with nett 64¾, followed by Newton and Margaret Morrison on nett 67½.
Fred and Cameron Stewart won the men’s section with nett 63½, from Troy Germane and Ryan Laird with nett 63¾.
NTPs: 6th Bricky Stone 135cm, 14th Bob Bettess 214cm for the pig and Sue Laird 830cm for the wine, 18th Heather Thomas 287cm.
Wednesday, November 4 - men’s single par: A good field of 66 players competed, and a countback on square was required for a ball.
Joe Cifti got +1 and a mention in B Grade, second place went to Stewart Thornton on +2 and in a nice progression Neil Lawlor won with +3.
