Eagles soar

ROBINVALE has moved back into the top two with a hard-fought win over Wentworth on Saturday.

The Eagles took out the inaugural Indigenous Round by 25 points in atrocious conditions at Riverside Park.

Eagles coach Troy Moncur likened the win to the Eagles’ thrilling four-point preliminary final win over the Roos in similar conditions last year.

“Before the game we said a win today gets us to second and that’s what we’re after,” Moncur said.

“It was similar to the prelim final we played against Wentworth last year in the wet, heavy conditions.

“Up until the last quarter it was pretty close and we were lucky enough in the end to have our noses in front and got a couple in a row at the end to finish it off.”

Saturday’s game was a must win for the Eagles, who have struggled to consistently find their best form over the past month.
