EXTREME temperatures will play havoc with sporting events in Sunraysia this weekend.
With the mercury set to soar over 40 degrees tomorrow, a number of sporting associations have called off their scheduled competitions, while others will wait until tonight to make a final call.
All cricket is expected to go ahead with both the Sunraysia Cricket Association and Red Cliffs Cricket Association preparing for play tomorrow.
The SCA’s cut-off is 43 degrees and administrator Peter Woodford said as long as the temperature didn’t get that hot play would continue.
“Basically if it’s 42 we play and if it’s 43 we don’t so it looks at this stage like things will go ahead,” Woodford said.
Junior cricket will follow the lead of the seniors in deciding whether to play or not.
