Fans ready for new-look speedway

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
AFTER a long off-season Olympic Park will again be the home to throbbing engines, slippery tracks and power slides.

Speedway fans will see the amount of work that has been completed by Mildura Motorcycle Club members during the off season, by attending the free Speedway Shakedown meeting tonight.

Major works have been done including the demolition and re-construction of the spectator fence and the relocation of race control further back from the track.

The box is now much higher, to provide better track viewing for race officials.

The new fence will be the forerunner of many changes as the club has signed a new long-term lease arrangement.

Members have determined that Olympic Park will be the home of the club now and well into the future.
