THIS year’s Mildura 100 will be the most open in years with several boats set to challenge for the title.
More than 250 boats will compete in this year’s event over the two days, including a large local contingent.
Mildura Ski Club president John Baumgurtel said it was too hard to pick a winner.
“The good thing about this year is that it’s pretty open. We’ve had different boats winning the events,” Baumgurtel said.
“In past years we’ve had one boat sort of dominate, but no one’s been dominant this year, so it’s really anyone’s race.
“Whether it be Blazin or Merc Force or Hellrazor we’ve got excellent boats competing and anyone can win, that’s the good thing about it.”
A large flotilla of local boats will be in action this weekend as the sport continues to grow in the region.
“We’ve got about 10 local boats and crews now, which is more than we’ve ever had,” Baumgurtel said.
