A GROUP of six up and coming local basketball players showed their stuff at the elite Gold Nugget training camp in Bendigo recently.

All members of the Victorian Country Basketball Regional Basketball Academy, the six youngsters were hoping to take the next step for selection to the 2010 Australia Cup to be held in Albury and the 2010 Pacific Slam in Port Macquarie next January.

Ashley Lenganke only began playing representative basketball this year, but is experiencing a meteoric rise to be among those selected for the elite camp.

Caitlin McLachlan was again selected for the camp this season and last year went on to be selected for the Australia Cup where she was a first five player in the Victorian Country Australia Cup Gold Medal Under 14 Girls championship team.
