PROMISING apprentice jockey Jack Hill was the star of the show at the Mildura races on Saturday, riding four winners on the eight event program.
Eighteen-year-old Hill is in his third year of riding and has now booted home 45 winners, 32 of them this season.
“I rode a double at the last meeting at Ballarat and knew I had some good rides today, but the result was fantastic,” Hill said after the meeting.
“I have ridden a couple of other doubles, but that was my best result before today.”
Hill’s first ride of the day was on the Jake Stephens-trained School Boy Fantasy who won the 1200m Trentham Estate Maiden Handicap.
School Boy Fantasy was successful by a length from the Ron Daniel-trained Speedy Merc.
School Boy Fantasy was having only his second lifetime start and Hill was impressed with the five-year-old Akhadan gelding.
