How did the experts fare?

19 Aug, 2009 05:00 AM
ON the eve of the SNFL finals, it is time to unlock the vault on Sunraysia Daily’s pre-season players’ survey.

Featured in our April 4 edition this year, Sunraysia Daily asked the eight players featured on page one two questions:

Which three clubs, other than your own, will make the top four in season 2009; and

Which player do you think will top the SNFL goalkicking this year?

Players asked to give their responses included three club coaches, Andrew Petrie (Imperials), Troy Moncur (Robinvale) and Mark Alvey (Wentworth), Irymple ruckman Shane Crossling, Merbein assistant coach Mark Duscher, key Mildura forward Anthony Matthews, league newcomer Jeremy Barnes from Red Cliffs and South Mildura defender Matt Hamdorf.

On the question of which clubs would play finals, our respondents fared well. All seven of Imps’ on-field rivals predicted the reigning premiers would return for a tilt at another flag.
