Plunge into new polo season

09 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
Irymple Swimming Pool will be a hotbed of action tonight as Sunraysia Waterpolo players hit the pool for the first round of the season.

League president Adele Cooke said team numbers were slightly down, but she still expected a good season.

“I think the women’s comp will be a lot stronger this year, there won’t just be two teams that dominate like in the last couple of season,” she said.

“One of the teams have really come through well and should be stronger than they were last year.

“It’s always pretty tight with the men. The new team who started last year, Water Rats, should be a bit stronger with another year under their belt and should do well.”
