IT was steady as you go in the last round of Mildura Squash first division pennant action this week with the top four teams holding on to their finals positions.
Rock and Roll put in a gallant effort to defeat second placed The Far Side, but it wasn’t enough to get them into the finals.
The Masters held on to fourth place after a comfortable 3-1 victory over Movers and Groovers.
The Masters will take on Allrounders in the first final with the loser dropping out of the premiership race.
Top team The Hopeful’s will do battle against The Far Side who will need to be at their best to have a chance of winning.
The winner of this match will enjoy a week of before the grand final while the loser goes into the preliminary final.
It was a thrilling finish to the division two battle for finals spots with a five-way battle for three spots decided on the last night of the season.
There were some upsets on the night, which created plenty of interest.
In the wash-up, it was Damage Control who finished the season on top.
