Winners are grinners

26 Aug, 2009 05:00 AM
IT was a case of winners were grinners at the Sunraysia Football Netball League under 18 and junior netball medal count on Monday night.

The league’s most talented junior players celebrated a year of achievement.

Merbein under 18s player Lachlan Collihole had a stellar season, winning the Gordon Casey Medal, while the netballers also shone.

Imperials netballer Hannah Priest capped off a strong year, winning the Wilson Medal as the 17 and under best and fairest.

Priest polled strongly all year, being awarded the best on court in the last three rounds to win by five votes ahead of South Mildura’s Stephanie Leake, who finished on 28 votes.
